Chinese Sticks

The magician displays two sticks with a long cord attached to one, and a short cord attached to the other. As the magician pulls on the short cord it becomes long, and the long cord become short. As the effect is repeated several times, the audience begins to suspect that the cords are connected at the ends of the sticks. However the sticks are shown not to be connected and the magic continues.
